KubeCon NA 2020: What to expect & sneak peek from MayaData

Team MayaData at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2020 Virtual

When: November 17-20, 2020
Where: KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2020 Virtual

By now, it goes without saying that KubeCon NA 2020 is going to be virtual, like the majority of other events worldwide. According to the CNCF, this year's KubeCon EU – the first KubeCon to ever be hosted virtually – made it possible for over 18,700+ registrants and boasted a 70% attendance rate, 72% of which were first-time KubeCon + CloudNativeCon attendees. To put it simply, as we have all believed for so many years, tech is now helping the community grow and get closer.

The time is now approaching faster for our second virtual KubeCon & this time addressing North America. We are super excited, and we know you are too! But before we get started, we feel proud to announce that we are one of the Gold Sponsors for KubeCon NA 2020.

We at MayaData have planned heaps of new things for this KubeCon, and we are so thrilled to share them with you. In this post, I'll talk about sneak peeks & what you can expect from us.

So without any further ado, let's get started.

KubeCon Talk: Constructing Chaos Workflows with Argo and LitmusChaos

When: Wednesday, November 18 • 4:55 pm - 5:30 pm EST (UTC–05:00)

LitmusChaos is an open source cloud native Chaos Engineering framework for Kubernetes. It provides custom APIs (via CRDs) to orchestrate Chaos on your clusters while providing readily usable, off-the-shelf Chaos experiments via the ChaosHub. However, Litmus is also highly extensible and can orchestrate chaos experiments implemented using other ecosystem tools in its BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Chaos) mode. In this talk, the Litmus maintainers, Sumit Nagal (Intuit) & Umasankar Mukkara (MayaData), will discuss how Intuit, a CNCF end-user, uses Litmus to manage & orchestrate experiments implemented using ChaosToolkit in a completely cloud-native way. They will also discuss a powerful DevOps pattern from Intuit that combines Litmus with Argo to create "chaos workflows" that use the Litmus Operator to execute chaos while simulating other workload behavior (percentage load) example) in parallel. MayaData lends a helping hand …

For this year's KubeCon, we lend a helping hand to the Kiran Anjali Project who partners with small, grassroots nonprofits in India who are providing high-quality, English-medium education to underprivileged children. And we are proud to join SysDig's "Partners For Good" program, which allocates budget for swag to charitable causes. An example of a past charity that has benefited from this program is BlackGirlsCode. We're excited to see who the Partners For Good program chooses this year. For every booth visit, MayaData will donate $1 each to these causes.

You can be a part of it too! Join us in our efforts to help those who need it. All you need to do is to visit the MayaData booth. Learn more here

Also, win exciting swag!

What is a KubeCon without swag, right? As always, we have some really cool swag to offer. Pop up by our booth to receive them. And stay tuned to find out what they are!

There is so much more to unveil this KubeCon, and we are so thrilled to share them with you. To find out what they are, do visit our booth. See you there!
